Our Story
It all started in 2019 on a rooftop in Tel Aviv. At the first “Cannabis Startups” meetup at Roosevelt, founders and investors gathered to exchange ideas and forge connections. What began as an informal gathering quickly evolved into a movement.
Five years later, Cannabis-Startups.com has grown into a comprehensive digital media powerhouse. Operating from our headquarters in Köln, Germany, our passionate team of five runs a diverse ecosystem of content, events, and communication offerings for the entire industry.

Falk Altenhöfer is an entrepreneur, investor, and cannabis industry analyst who built Cannabis-Startups.com into Europe’s leading platform for cannabis business intelligence.
Throughout the 2010s, Falk helped build startups across e-commerce and SaaS, supporting business angels and family offices navigate the platform economy. This hands-on experience shapes everything he does today – he doesn’t just write about cannabis startups, he builds them.
As co-founder of four cannabis ventures and active investor in the sector, Falk understands the challenges founders face from the inside. His analyses of capital efficiency, business models, and market dynamics come from someone who’s raised funding, built teams, and scaled businesses.
In 2019, Falk supported iCAN and their CannaTech events to discover and onboard promising cannabis startups to the iCAN platform. What started as deal sourcing evolved into something bigger: Cannabis-Startups.com was born from the realization that Europe needed a dedicated hub where cannabis entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts could connect and learn.
